Dear Burlington Community,

After 14 incredible years of working together to support Burlington and the surrounding communities, Burlington Womenade has made the difficult decision to close.

Since our founding in 2011, this community has helped us raise over $325,000—all of which has gone directly to support 267 local families in need. We have organized more than 75 fundraising events, and the generosity of local businesses and community members has been truly extraordinary. There are too many to name, but please know that we are deeply grateful for every single one of you.

Our dedicated volunteer board is incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together. While this chapter is coming to an end, we know that Burlington remains in good hands with the many wonderful nonprofit organizations that continue to serve our community.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your unwavering support. We could not have done this without you.

With gratitude,

The Burlington Womenade Board

(Korey, Sharleen, Elizabeth, Nicole, Victoria, Megan and Kelly)

Ladies Night Pot Luck Fundraiser for Kelly

Thursday, January 25 2024

6:30-9:30pm

29 Brookside Lane Burlington MA 01803

Kelly Floyd was diagnosed with breast cancer in the summer of 2022 and has had multiple surgeries through Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Unfortunately, the recoveries have been difficult and riddled with complications that required months of home nursing and hospital wound care. Kelly will be having one additional surgery in April 2024. Currently, she is making positive progress with the help of her husband David and four children; Kyra, Ryan, Sadie and Dillon as well as close friends and former colleagues.

Throughout this terrible time, Kelly has been unable to work and is without an income. The family could use help from the community.

Kelly has worked for Burlington Public Schools since 1999. She has worked in roles including MSMS Librarian, Technology Integration Specialist, Wellness Teacher for Burlington Remote Academy, Memorial School Librarian and proud classroom teacher at the Pine Glen School. Please consider helping this family out.

For the Pot Luck, if your last name starts with, please bring (enough for 4-6 people):

A-F: Dessert

G-L: Appetizer

M-Z: Wine or other beverage

We will be collecting cash and checks (made out to Kelly Floyd). If you prefer to donate gift cards, some suggestions are Visa gift cards, Wegmans, Target, CVS and Market Basket. Donations can be in any amount ($25 is the suggested amount, but any amount helps).

If you can’t make the event and would still like to donate, please send gift cards or checks to Womenade, 7 Anna Road, Burlington MA 01803. Additionally, donations can be made through PayPal on our website (www.burlingtonMAwomenade.org) or Venmo @Burlington-Womenade.

Thank you to Gayle and Peter DaMore for hosting!

Also, a huge shout out to DECA students Ava Cicolini and Dillyn Welch (and their teacher Krista Anderson) for organizing this fun night out for children and parents!

Flatbread Company Event for the Strangie Family

The Strangies are a Wilmington family of 6.

A little over 1 year ago, their youngest son was born very prematurely (at 22 weeks old) and was hospitalized for 7 months. As a result, he has some severe health complications that have put an emotional and financial strain on the family.

Please join us in offering support to this local family. A portion of all pizzas sold for dine in AND take out will go directly to the family.

We will also be raffling a Sonos Speaker at the event for $5 per ticket. Raffle tickets are also available for purchase if you can’t make it to the event (Venmo @Burlington-Womenade) or PayPal/credit card on this site.
